How to Care for Nikari Products
We compiled the key tips to help you take the best possible care of your Nikari products.

Solid Wood Furniture, Oil-Waxed Surface
Solid wood furniture ages beautifully, with its life and patina proudly visible over time. However, as wood is a living material, regular care and maintenance extends its lifecycle and brings out the best in its natural patina.
Clean your solid wood furniture daily with a slightly damp cloth, gently rubbing away any stains. Use only organic cleaning agents and ensure the surface doesn’t remain wet.
A more thorough maintenance treatment should be performed every two years. You’ll need a fine sanding pad (e.g., Mirka Mirlon VF). Lightly sand the surface along the wood grain. Apply a thin layer of colorless matte oil wax to the cleaned surface and let it absorb for 5–10 minutes. Wipe off excess wax with a lint-free white cloth, and finally, polish the surface with a clean cloth.

Solid Wood Furniture, Lacquered Surface
Nikari offers furniture with surfaces treated with water-based lacquer or only stained finishes. Both options inherently repel dirt and moisture, making them low-maintenance and particularly suitable for public spaces.
For lacquered and stained surfaces, immediately wipe any spills with a slightly damp cloth and use organic cleaning agents. If the lacquered surface becomes damaged, sand it down completely and reapply the lacquer.
Natural Tanned Leather Parts
High-quality natural tanned leather develops a beautiful patina with proper care. Regular cleaning is essential, as heat and dry air can dehydrate leather without maintenance. Treat leather surfaces promptly if stained or if the surface feels dry after getting wet.
First, remove dirt and stains using a natural sponge or soft cloth. Depending on the type of stain, choose either a leather surface cleaner or a deep-cleaning leather soap.
Finish by applying a conditioning product, such as leather oil or cream, to maintain the leather’s natural moisture balance.
Textile Parts
Vacuum textile parts regularly. If a stain occurs, absorb it as soon as possible with a napkin or a clean cloth. Wipe the area with a lint-free white cloth, and if necessary, use cleaning or stain removal agents. Test the cleaner first on an unnoticeable area of the furniture. Avoid excessive water and over-scrubbing.
Outdoor Furniture
The surfaces of Nikari’s outdoor furniture will age gracefully and develop a beautiful gray hue over time if protected from excess moisture. After getting wet, dry the surfaces immediately and store the furniture indoors during the winter season. Additionally, perform yearly maintenance.
Start by thoroughly cleaning the wooden surface of dirt and marks. Next, treat the dry and clean surface with an outdoor wood oil product (e.g., Osmo UV Protection Oil) to support the gradual and attractive graying of the wood. The surface may appear blotchy for a while, but the gray tone will even out over time.
Laminate Surfaces
Most stains and dirt on laminate surfaces can be cleaned with warm water and a soft, damp cloth. If needed, use mild household cleaners or dish soap solutions.
For stubborn stains, use a white melamine sponge (magic eraser) – either dry or wet, depending on the situation.
